one idea per cover
a cover is the first second of an album. before a single note, it has already told you something, or it has told you nothing.
for uve key i keep one rule: one idea per cover. 111 is three strokes standing like columns with a halo on top. the way is a winged figure walking towards the sea. en la luz is light falling on a deer. damn! is a table with too much on it.
the style changes when the music changes. the way era is oil paint, cracked warm colour and a thin gold frame, like a holy card. the latest singles went the other way: no colour, no frame, only grain and fog. a lamb among wolves, then two lambs in front of a stairway.
the frame, the palette, the grain: none of it is decoration. it is the tone of the songs, made visible.
